Girls With Curls Shampoo: A Review
I was out shopping when I stumbled across the Girls With Curls curl shampoo by Dippity-do. I had seen it a couple of times before on the internet, and decided to give it a try (the fact that it was at a discounted price contributed to my decision as well).
At First Glance
When buying something, your first experience with the product is the packaging. It's ultimately what decides whether you put it in your cart or not. That being said, I wasn't particularly impressed. As shown below, it was a little outdated looking. I did like, however, that it was a pump bottle. It also boasted no sulfates, parabens, or dyes, which are the three magic words when trying to get a curly girl to buy your product.
The Product
The smell was great, it was floral and sweet smelling, without being really strong. When I pumped it into my hand it was very thick, like honey, and was clear but murky (which is a good sign since the label said it contained no dyes).
The Cleanse
When I started cleansing my hair with it, it was a little difficult to distribute the product evenly. It also didn't lather much, which is a good thing since that's a sign of sulfates. Rinsing the product out was much easier than I anticipated, though, which was reassuring because I assumed that part would take forever.
After The Cleanse
As shown below, my hair looked shiny and clean when I got out of the shower, and my curl pattern was forming nicely. I decided to forego diffusing my hair, that way I could see how the product did with no additional help.

My curls ended up extremely defined and super shiny, but my roots were a little flat. I have very curly yet very thin hair (props to anyone who knows my struggle) so it's hard to find products that moisturize and define my curls while still giving my roots volume. If you have my same problem and you use this product, I suggest diffusing your hair throughly and then using a hair pick to fluff up your roots and create volume.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I enjoyed this product and would give it an 8/10. It would be perfect for someone with dryer hair than me, because it moisturizers so much. However, it will take a lot of work to get my roots as voluminous as I want them. If you would like to test it out for yourself, just visit their website here!
